Description

This instrument was collected in the field by Percy Horace Gordon Powell-Cotton and is mainly used for signaling purposes. It is a large and heavy slit drum ("E-Koo") made from an hollowed trunk of wood, with a flattened top surface and two large rectangular slits connected through septum at center by narrow slit (double-slit in H-shape). In addition to the slits there is one hole on the side and another one on the bottom of the trunk.
