According to the firm's archives [work shop order books], batch of 6 (20989 94) given out prior to 1 Jun 1870. Overall size: perpendicular to bell 350; corpus diameter c 245: bell 180. Sounding length: minimum with C shank 2289; minimum with Bb crook 2577; overall air column length of C shank 90; of Bb crook 394. Bore: C shank at c 8mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 9.0; C shank at distal end, 9.9; Bb crook at c 23mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 8.9; Bb crook at distal end, 9.05; m.t.s. at c 356mm from shank/crook receiver, tuning slide bore 11.65; centre of valve cluster at c 594mm from shank/crook receiver, v.t.s. bore (1,2,3) 11.65; at 1144mm from bell end, c 13.8; at c 600mm from bell end, 19.5. NEWPORT ST. / LONDON / 20990"; on valve top and bottom caps and side of casings "13", "14", "15"; on 2nd valve casing with words forming an ellipse "DISTIN * LONDON *", inside "MAKER" / "11000"); on crook mouthpiece ferrule "Bb".
